How we learnt to ship 3X faster:5 lessons from the Helpchat experience

Posted on 1 Comment

As the CTO of Helpchat India, I am responsible for making sure that our product ships on time, again and again. Running a 80+ member tech team requires a very different kind of skill set than running a 30 people team. Over the last few months, as we grew faster, it became more and more important for us to design our culture in such a way that it enabled us to ship faster. In tech businesses, execution is (almost) everything. Background Before I jump into what we did, here’s a quick background of why it was necessary for us to go deep and solve this as a problem. The average Indian user is fed up of installing apps and our app […]

New Delhi, India – May 18, 2014: Akosha, a messaging platform for all consumer-to-business interactions, today announced that Sequoia is leading a new Rs.100 crore Series B round. This new round of financing will be used to hire over 200 software engineers and product managers to build out the platform, and fund the exponential growth of Akosha’s new mobile app for connecting users and businesses. Akosha was founded on the insight that the quality and channels of consumer’s interactions with businesses are broken and outdated. In 2010, Akosha pioneered the model of a single destination for consumers to connect with any large businesses starting. Akosha handles 30,000+ consumer inquiries every day over the web, telephone and its Android chat app. […]

One year at Akosha – Archit Chandra

Posted on Leave a comment

My name is Archit and I am a Program Manager at Akosha. I recently completed one extremely eventful year with Akosha that taught me numerous lessons, both on work and on life. I could have hardly imagined that the first year of my work-life would alter the way I think so dramatically. Coming from a very middle-class family with a “government jobs are the best” mentality and an idealistic thinking process, I did what every guy like me would have been advised to do: study extremely hard and get to a good engineering college. Thus, I reached a pretty decent engineering college called wikipedia.org Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (which I really hope you know about; we NSITians kind of […]

Delhi’s biggest Android Hackathon (yet) …by Akosha

Posted on Leave a comment

If not the first, it definitely was the biggest Androidathon that took place in Delhi, on July 19th and 20th, 2014 at 91 Springboard. It was organised by Akosha and we were proud to have it sponsored by Sequoia Capital, NASSCOM (10000 Startups), Groupon, Healthkart, Postergully and PayTM. Even more awesome was the part that more than 110 techies from all over Delhi participated in it, making the event a complete success. The basic theme was surrounding customer service wherein 110 participants were divided into 25 teams with each coming up with an ‘idea’. Eventually, only 3 made it to the top spot with Team ‘Jarvis’ being the first, Team ‘OSC’ coming second and Team ‘TeamUp’ taking the third place. […]

Legal Team: Lives for today, plans for tomorrow.. Parties tonight!

Summer is at its hottest peak but here is the Legal Team of Akosha taking a chill pill (more like “gulps”) amidst all the work and toil and pressure and deadlines. And how amazingly we do it. All the Legal Associates decided to watch a horror movie along with the interns complete with delicious food and booze after the official working hours ended. Scroll down to see a few snapshots of the evening.   Thus, adding a little excitement to the usual office life, we ended the night on a happy note and vow to make this a habit henceforth. A habit so awesome which makes you look forward to coming to office even on an otherwise excruciatingly boring MONDAY. […]

One year at Akosha-Saurabh Kher

The Process : I was a fresher just passed out from JNTU Hyderabad(2012) and was looking for a job when I stumbled upon E-Litmus. While going through the website, I came across the E-litmus blog where people were discussing about Akosha. Akosha had placed an opening on E-Litmus and were looking for talent. I went through their website, read their blog, visited their careers page: it was a very new world for me, I was ecstatic. I started digging deeper into Akosha and while doing so I came across ankursingla.com, which is the Founder/CEO’s blog. The blog really opened up for me the chance to explore the people I would be working with and after reading the “Saat Developer Maaf” […]
